Westpac Rescue Helicopter Training at Southport

There was some impressive flying on display at YSPT today, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter from Surf Life Saving Queensland Aviation conducting retrieval practice at Southport Flying Club.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service provides 24/7 emergency, aeromedical, and search-and-rescue services across Australia.
They deliver critical care, retrieve patients from accidents (motor vehicle, farming, marine), and conduct winch rescues in difficult terrain. They also provide coastal surveillance for sharks and swimmers.
Regular training like this ensures they’re always prepared to support our community when it matters most.
